Accessing Clever on a District iPad or Chromebook
Clever is the Single Sign-On (SSO) application used by the district. It allows students to access a variety of resources without having to remember individual usernames and passwords for each site. If a students teacher requires them to access Clever for a Digital Learning Day (DLD), instructions for doing so on district devices can be found below.
iPad
1. Tap the Clever app icon.
2. Clever will open the camera app automatically.
3. Present the Clever Badge (QR code card) to the camera. Adjust position and distance from camera until the green checkmark appears.
4. The Clever home screen will open a new Safari tab.
Chromebook
Clever is set to automatically open when a student logs into their Chromebook; however, it will not do so if the student did not log out previously. To access Clever manually:
1. Click the Shiocton SD folder icon on the left of the Chrome bookmarks bar and select Clever. You can also access the login portal by going to https://clever.com/in/ssd
2. If the student is in Grade 2 through Grade 4, click the Clever Badge log in option.
3. Present the Clever Badge (QR code card) to the camera. Adjust position and distance from camera until the green checkmark appears. The Clever home screen will appear.
4. If the student is in Grade 5-12, click the Log in with Google button.
5. Enter the student username and password. The Clever home screen will appear.
