Logging into a District Chromebook
Students log into their assigned district Chromebook using one of two methods depending on their grade level. Grade 2 through Grade 4 students use a QR code card to log into their Chromebook, while students in Grade 5 and above use their assigned username and a password that they create to log in. Chromebooks are set up by the district to display each method to the student based on their grade level.
Logging in with a QR Code Card
1. After powering on the Chromebook, devices of students in Grades 2-4 will automatically display the QR code login screen.
2. Hold the QR code card up to the camera with the code facing the Chromebook screen.
3. Adjust the position and distance between the card and the Chromebook's camera as necessary until a green checkmark appears.
4. Login will continue and the Chromebook will automatically open the Chrome browser to the Clever home screen.
Logging in with Username and Password
1. After powering on the Chromebook, devices of students in Grades 5-12 will display username and password entry screens.
2. Enter the student username. NOTE: students do not need to include the "@shiocton.k12.wi.us" string at the end of their username for this login.
3. On the next screen, enter the student password.
4. Login will continue and the Chromebook will automatically open the Chrome browser to the Clever home screen.
If the student does not have access to their QR code card or have forgotten their username/password, please contact the student's teacher for a digital copy of their credentials.
